Appeal a ticket | Calgary Parking
If you believe you have received a parking tag or infraction notice in error, you may want to request an administrative review/appeal.
There are two ways to appeal:
-
Calgary Parking Administrative Review
For tags and infraction notices with data entry, signage or officer errors. You also may appeal a violation ticket with us up to 10 days before the court date and once it has been issued, it must be appealed by email.
If an appeal is successful, your ticket will be cancelled.
During the early payment incentive period, starting the appeal process will pause the fine payment schedule. If your appeal is unsuccessful, the fine payment schedule resumes on the day you are contacted about the review results. You will have seven days to pay the fine at the paused amount or you can wait for the violation ticket to be issued and contact the Provincial Traffic Court by the first appearance date.
-
Traffic Court
For Violation Tickets appealed due to compassionate reasons (e.g. health, medical, etc.) or mitigating circumstances (e.g. stopped for a minute, volunteering, etc.).Successful appeals may result in having the fine amount reduced, payment extension or cancelled entirely.
If you are appealing your ticket due to personal or situational reasons, or you want to request a fine reduction or make payment arrangements, please wait until you receive your Violation Ticket and follow the Traffic Court process. A violation ticket must be received prior to contacting the Traffic Court. Court instructions must be followed regardless of Administrative Review status.
Please note that only unpaid tickets can be appealed.
