During Spring Clean-up (street sweeping), we ensure that the process is safe and compliance-certified by enforcing parking bans and monitoring compliance through our camera vehicles. We also keep the streets free of parked cars and do not obstruct street-sweeping vehicles. The City’s Spring Clean-up program work to ensure the roads in our communities are clean, debris-free, and safe for pedestrians and cyclists.

Parking bans and fines
On-street bans in your community occur on the day your street is scheduled for sweeping, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Calgary Parking support The City’s Spring Clean-up program with our camera cars, which tag vehicles left on the street during a parking ban. Be aware, tickets are not left on vehicle at the time of the ban, instead they are issued via mail to the registered owner. You can find more information on fines below.

You can easily avoid a parking ticket. The best part is that it's entirely in your control. With two simple steps, you can easily avoid getting a parking ticket during street sweeping:
- Remain vigilant, look for parking ban signs in your community and follow them. Follow the signs and your street will be clean without parking fines- they are posted in advance and indicate when sweeping is occurring.
- On your sweeping day, ensure you move your vehicle off the road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., regardless of whether the sweeper has passed through.
While our goal is to support you and avoid tickets, we enforce parking bans to ensure our program runs efficiently, and to prevent unnecessary debris buildup, and help keep your neighbourhood clean. Spring clean-up is your chance to have your street swept—don't miss it!
Administrative review process
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and you may receive a parking ticket even though you tried your best to follow the rules. If this happens, don't panic—our administrative review process is in place. The process allows you to contest a ticket if you feel it was unfairly issued.
