Parking Operations is the backbone of Calgary Parking’s service delivery. The team proudly provides efficient and effective services, including:

• Maintaining parking lot operations and managing pay machines
• Maximizing parking lot space
• Ensuring a safe and secure experience for parkers
• Handling impound lot services
• Minimizing service disruptions

We are proud to lead several environmental and sustainability projects.

This includes installing public electric vehicle charging stations and gradually transitioning our fleet of vehicles to electric vehicles. We are also collaborating with the Calgary Bike Association on a daily bike locker pilot project to identify ways to provide more options for people who bike downtown. We are also expanding our usage of solar panels to support Calgary Parking’s journey to Net Zero and beyond. These are just a few of the innovative and creative projects this team works on every day.

Karina is our Human Resources Business Partner as part of Shared Services. She works closely with our leaders to align HR policies and practices with The City’s operational and service goals. She provides guidance on things like workforce planning, managing employee and labour relations, performance, and ensuring compliance with employment standards and agreements. Her goal is to make work a better place for everyone by building strong teams and creating a workplace where employees feel valued and supported.

It’s not just about the cars – it’s about the people. A team of dedicated professionals work hard to keep things running smoothly at the Municipal Impound Lot while providing exceptional customer service.

Often people who come to us are experiencing stress —whether their vehicle was towed, impounded, or involved in an accident. We work closely with agencies like Calgary Police, Safe Roads Alberta, and the courts to manage police holds, vehicle seizures, criminal investigations, and legal processes, making sure the rightful owner gets their vehicle back. We are a proud team committed to delivering a positive customer experience while providing impound operations from start to finish. Our dedicated Customer Service Specialists, Customer Attendants, and Disposal Processing Specialists work together to ensure efficiency, professionalism, and exceptional service at every step of the process.

Strategic Business Planning Team – Sidney, Leah, Bulbul, Reachel 

The Sales and Technology team is dedicated to promoting the ParkPlus System, offering innovative parking solutions that benefit the City of Calgary financially. We manage key partnerships with prominent organizations such as the Calgary Zoo, the Jubilee, and The Calgary Stampede. We also actively promote ParkPlus through industry conferences and showcase our solutions across Canada.

The Strategic Business Planning team, develops strategies and procedures to support Calgary Parking's on-street and off-street parking operations.  We focus on making parking more efficient, improving turnover, and enhancing the customer experience to benefit local businesses and customers. The team keeps track of parking performance, identifies industry trends and ensures that parking operating systems and technologies are updated to meet current parking needs.

With a team of professionals who bring a variety of skills and experiences, we can handle tough tasks and requests with efficiency and care.

Like first responders for Calgary Parking, we handle questions and concerns from Calgarians. Our team answers customer inquiries about parking, tickets, lot closures, and permits by phone and email. On average, we receive approximately 650 calls, 200 emails and 150 online applications each day. Every day is different with unique issues and concerns but we look forward to working with, helping and educating Calgarians.

We manage all the administrative tasks for parking tickets, court documents, fleet services, procurement and more. Our team is made up of professionals who take pride in their work and provide important services behind the scenes. We are always learning from each other and helping one another succeed.

When it comes to communications, there’s no shortage of it at Calgary Parking. From handling media requests, launching new technology, supporting leaders, engaging with employees, or announcing lot closures and openings – there’s a lot to keep up with.  We work closely with leaders, employees, the Contact Centre, and the Impound Lot. The work is fast-paced and always interesting. It’s all about helping each other and being part of a great team.
