Safe parking practices throughout Stampede
- Follow Signs: Always read and follow parking signs. They will tell you where and when you can park. If you park in a ‘No-Parking zone, you might get a ticket and your vehicle might be towed to the Municipal Impound Lot.
- Time Limits: Some locations, such as 2-hour zones, limit parking time. If you're in a time-limited zone, use your phone to set reminders and make sure you move your vehicle before the time expires so that it does not get a ticket or have your vehicle towed.
- Permit Zones: Some neighbourhoods require a permit to park. Look for signs indicating if you need a permit.
- Use the Parking Planner: Plan your trip and know where to park before arriving. Our Parking Planner is an excellent resource for this.
- Lock Your Car: Always lock your car and take valuables with you. Don't leave anything valuable in plain sight.
Remember, following these parking tips will help you have a worry-free experience. Stay safe and have fun at Calgary Stampede!

Watching the fireworks - restricted vehicle access at Ramsay
Fireworks have a certain magic when they light up the sky, transforming a regular evening into an extraordinary show of colours and sounds. They are best viewed anywhere within and throughout Stampede Park or The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary). While West Ramsay (Scotsman's Hill) is a popular destination to watch the fireworks, please note that vehicle access is restricted.
Restricted Access to West Ramsay: From Friday, July 5, to Sunday, July 14, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., there will be limited vehicle access to West Ramsay from Spiller Road and 8 Street S.E. Ramsay residents and their visitors are assured of convenient access with their access permits at a vehicle entry point once their Stampede Access Permit is displayed.
